YOUR ROLE
Ensuring strong risk management is critical to preserving the integrity of our business and enabling sustainable growth.
Genworth is currently seeking a Senior Enterprise Risk Director to lead risk oversight for key functional areas of the business. A critical responsibility of this role will be to ensure the strategic vision of the organization is developed and executed with a clear understanding of risks, trade-offs, and opportunities, while proactively managing emerging risks across the organization.
This role will serve as both an independent risk advisor and a strategic partner to the business, working closely with leadership to embed risk-informed decision making into operations, technology initiatives, and growth strategies.
This role operates as a second line of defense, providing independent oversight and effective challenge to the business. The position will have a direct reporting line to the Chief Risk Officer, with a strong dotted-line relationship to the Carescout CEO to ensure alignment, influence, and integration of risk management into key business decisions.
What you will be doing
- Lead execution and continuous improvement of the enterprise-wide risk assessment framework as it pertains to risks, controls, and governance activities
- Ensure appropriate inventories of risks and controls are maintained and evolve with changes in the business and external environment
- Review and synthesize risk insights to provide a clear, aggregated view of risk across business units and the enterprise
- Proactively understand, assess and document key risks and controls across all key risk areas within the business
- Ensure governance activities are executed in alignment with Genworth policies and expectations, while remaining efficient and fit-for-purpose
- Partner with business leaders to support effective risk management and enable efficient, well-controlled operations
- Maintain and enhance the framework for risk quantification and consistent assessment across the enterprise
- Develop and deliver risk reporting, dashboards, and heat maps for senior management, the Board, and key stakeholders
- Monitor risk exposures and emerging risk signals, providing guidance to leadership on thresholds, actions, and trade-offs
- Partner with leadership to review and improve policies, governance processes, and best practices
- Act as an independent review function to ensure risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and addressed through effective control testing and risk assessment
- Partner with internal assurance functions to ensure coordinated and comprehensive coverage of key risks
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields or equivalent demonstrated experience
- At least 15 years of business or risk experience
- At least 8 years of experience in risk management
- Prior experience in a digital, direct-to-consumer organization that leverages technology and data to deliver products and services at scale and enhance customer experience
- Proven leadership and people management skills in a matrixed environment
- Strong communication skills to build and maintain relationships, with the ability to challenge business leaders and translate risk insights into clear, actionable decisions
- Ability to work effectively in an environment with a high degree of subjectivity, change, and ambiguity
- Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset, including the ability to connect risk management to business outcomes
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills across diverse business and work cultures
- Experience with enterprise risk management and risk frameworks
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements
Nice to have
- MBA or Master’s Degree in a business-related discipline
- Risk management experience in healthcare, long-term care, or technology-enabled service environments
- Experience supporting new or evolving business models and platforms
- Skilled networker who builds relationships and identifies opportunities to improve business outcomes
- Experience with quantitative risk analysis and scenario-based decision support

For the State of New York: The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $202,900 up to the maximum of $386,200. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 25% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
