Position Title
Manager, Quality Assurance (Flight Ops & SMS)
Reporting To
Head, Corporate Safety & Security Oversight
Position Summary
The Manager, QA (Flight Ops & SMS) oversees and ensures compliance with aviation regulations, industry standards, and Firefly's internal safety and quality management. The role involves conducting audits, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to maintain operational integrity and compliance across flight operations, operations control, cabin operations and Safety Management System.
Key Accountabilities
Accountable to the Head, CSSO in
- Establishing, managing and implementing an independent QA Programme within Firefly.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks in flight operations, operations control, cabin operations and Safety Management Systems.
- Risk management decisions are documented and communicated to the senior management team.
Qualifications and Years of Experience
- Degree in a related discipline from a recognised higher institution with a minimum of five (5) years related working experience that is deemed acceptable to Group Human Capital or
- Diploma in a related discipline from a recognised higher institution with a minimum of ten (10) years of related working experience that is deemed acceptable to Group Human Capital.
- Valid or previously held Flight Crew Licence (e.g. ATPL/CPL) or equivalent aviation operational qualification, with a minimum of five (5) years relevant operational aviation experience in Flight Operations, Safety, Training, Quality Assurance, Investigation or related disciplines deemed acceptable by Group Human Capital.
- Experience in operational risk management, occurrence investigation, safety assurance or oversight activities is an advantage.
- Certified Lead Auditor (ISO, IOSA or equivalent), Accident/Incident Investigation, SMS, Human Factors or related aviation safety qualification would be an advantage.
