GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONThe Fuels Credit Risk Specialist works independently to perform credit risk analysis and proposes credit limits, monitors and controls security, interfaces with customers and the business units, balances risk and return, monitors credit limits and supports team actions to meet both Credit and business unit goals. The incumbent must work in an integrated and effective manner cross-functionally on matters related to credit risk.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Position will primarily focus on Credit Risk.
Analyze & interpret numerical data and perform financial analysis using a credit scoring model to evaluate the financial wherewithal of prospective and existing customers for the purpose of granting a credit limit.
Determine if collateral is necessary to reduce credit risk, then work to obtain guarantees and/or letters of credit as appropriate to mitigate risk.
Maintain approved credit limits are setup accurately in credit database and confirm that limits are correctly interfacing to commercial systems.
Prepare weekly cash forecast of receivables from counterparties.
Reconcile and enter cash receipts received daily.
Monitor exposures and overdue balances and communicate with customers as necessary to collect payments while identifying problems that are impeding timely payments and work collaboratively with the customers and internal personnel to resolve those issues.
Prepare daily exposure report for the traders on active bulk counterparties and other periodic reports used internally to determine credit strategies.
Assist in maintaining customer and retail credit and product authorizations; consignee setups in TABS and at terminals; and identify and resolve loading issues at the terminal rack.
Process monthly Escrow interest payment and statements.
Prepare monthly reports for management.
Assist with departmental SOX testing for internal audits as well as for KPMG.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, fuels, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Bachelor’s degree in business. Experience in credit analysis in the oil and gas industry a plus.
