This position is located in a National Labor Relations Board Field office. Field offices represent the operating arm of the Agency and the means through which both the Board and the General Counsel interact with the public. The Compliance Support Specialist ensures compliance with remedial provisions of formal and informal cases. Education must be accredited by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement). As an Compliance Support Specialist, GS-1801-9, your typical work assignments may include:
IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The ideal candidate has experience performing compliance processes and thorough understanding of the procedures to support case management operations. Experience would range from relatively simple to cases which involve more elements of moderate difficulty. The candidate ensures compliance with provisions of formal and informal cases, exercising judgment and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of case management systems and records. Attention to detail is critical to the completion and review of case work. Excellent communication skills are desired.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Compliance Support Specialist at the GS-09 grade level.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.).

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.)

As an Compliance Support Specialist, GS-1801-9, your typical work assignments may include:
- Managing the case management system of records, providing technical support and guidance to various staff members in operational uses, tracking, retrieval and electronic recordkeeping of compliance case matters.
- Creating and maintaining databases and spreadsheets for the collection of compliance related information.
- Using available search and reporting services to obtain information relevant to compliance cases which includes locating discriminates and researching motor vehicle records and the corporate status of a business.
- Attending settlement negotiations or other meetings conducted by the Compliance Officer, or Compliance Supervisor with the public or parties to cases to take notes or take the lead in meetings in appropriate situations.
- Modifying draft subpoenas, questionnaires, proof of claims; drafting for review by the Compliance Officer, questionnaires used to survey parties involved in Board cases, such as discrimination, comparable employees and other employers' correspondents.

- Experience preparing drafts of final correspondence relating to case management mission operations and communicating with stakeholders, including challenging parties.
