The Opportunity

The Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst will serve as a key contributor within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), providing cross-functional support across key ERM programs including; Risk Reporting, Risk Identification and Assessment Processes (RIAP), and Work Effort Risk Management (WERM) activities. This role is responsible for leveraging quantitative analysis, advanced analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to strengthen risk insights, improve operational efficiency, and support enterprise risk simplification initiative.

As ERM programs continue to evolve in response to expanding data, technology, and regulatory expectations, this position will play a critical role in modernizing risk management capabilities through the application of statistical analysis, data visualization, AI-assisted tools, and process automation.

The Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst will partner with stakeholders across the organization to develop scalable risk solutions that enhance decision-making, improve reporting effectiveness, and increase program maturity.

What you'll do:

  • Utilizes advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
  • Applies advanced knowledge and industry best practices to quantify risk and aggregate exposures.
  • Engages in model validation and produces model validation reports.
  • Applies innovative and scientific/quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make recommendations to answer business objectives and drive change.
  • Translates recommendations into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and management.
  • Applies advanced knowledge to produce advanced analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
  • Provides mentorship to other team members in the peer review process.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Sciences, or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.



Experiences that will support your success:

  • 5 years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline.
  • OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 4 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.
  • OR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline and up to 2 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.
  • Advanced proficiency in: Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced modeling), Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization platforms, SQL, Python, R, or other statistical programming languages

  • Experience accessing and analyzing complex data inputs to develop well‑reasoned insights and recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide risk management programs and governance processes.
  • Strong understanding of ERM frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and risk reporting practices.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled productivity and analytical tools such as: GitHub Copilot; Microsoft Copilot; or Generative AI platforms

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080 - $218,030.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
