What You'll Be Doing

U.S. TDAI (Technology, Data and AI) brings together teams across Technology, Information Security, Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Business Continuity Management, the Data Management Office, Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Security, and Governance and Oversight to help the bank operate effectively and support continued growth. As a Business Controls Manager, you'll work within the first line of defense to help strengthen the control environment across these functions. You'll partner closely with US TDAI leadership and second line of defense teams, including Operational Risk and Compliance, to design, implement, and manage business controls that align with the organization's risk tolerance. In this role, you'll support operational excellence by helping teams identify control gaps, address risk issues, and advance high-priority initiatives. You'll also help ensure regulatory changes, remediation efforts, and control improvements are coordinated thoughtfully and executed effectively.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.  Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You'll Succeed

  • Control Design and Execution - Support the design, implementation, execution, and reporting of business controls across US TDAI lines of business to help strengthen the overall control environment.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Act as a central point of contact for business control management, partnering with TDAI leaders, second line of defense teams, control testing partners, technical subject matter experts, and architects.

  • Risk Management - Provide risk and compliance guidance to support the development, review, and maintenance of business controls, and help manage day-to-day risk issues, remediation activities, and special projects.

  • Control Inventory and Remediation - Maintain risk and control inventories, identify gaps or weaknesses, and support timely remediation to improve control effectiveness and reduce risk.

  • Strategic Initiative Support - Help prioritize and oversee strategic, high-visibility, and mission-critical initiatives by coordinating across stakeholders and monitoring progress.

  • Regulatory Change Management - Stay current on regulatory developments, assess potential impacts to the business, and support the implementation of changes within US TDAI
